Pet urine and lingering smells
Urine does not stay on the surface. It sinks through the pile into the backing and underlay, which is why a smell can come back after a carpet looks clean, especially on a damp day. It needs treating at the source, not covering up.
If the underlay is badly affected, we will tell you honestly. Sometimes the only full fix is replacing that section.
What to do before we arrive
- Blot fresh spills with a clean white cloth, working from the outside in
- Do not rub, as that spreads the stain and damages the pile
- Avoid bleach, and be careful with shop-bought stain removers
- Tell us anything you have already tried
What we cannot promise
Some stains change the colour of the fibre itself. Bleach marks, old dye spills and long-standing urine can be permanent. We would rather tell you up front than take your money and disappoint you.
